Police: Drunk driver slams into car in W. Seattle, seriously injures two people

SEATTLE --Two people are hospitalized in critical condition after a crash in West Seattle after 2 a.m. Sunday, Seattle Police said.

Police say a woman driving a van went through a stop sign at 17th and Cambridge overnight and slammed into a Honda sedan carrying two people.

The car was pinned up against a fence.

Both occupants of the car are at Harborview.

The driver and three other people in the van got out and started running from the scene.

Officers caught up with all of them.

The driver of the van refused treatment at the scene was booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular assault.
