Police: Missing Bellevue man found safe in Oregon

BELLEVUE - An 85-year-old man who was reported missing from his Bellevue home Friday morning has been found safe, according to police.

She told police Lewis has been known to drive short distances from his home but not for several hours at a time.
These days, sometimes ya hafta drive a ways to find some good fried chicken.
So sad. Seems to be more and more frequent.
I'm glad he was found safe and sound!Â
I'm glad he has been found. I'm sorry he is suffering from Alzheimer's and has lost his independence.
That this guy has been driving is scary.
Usually they're heading somewhere they used to go when they were in their 40's and 50's i.e their job. Unfortunately getting lost is a distinct possibility. I hope they find him safe and sound.
Wow, they found him quite a ways away! Luckily nobody was hurt. They need to get a GPS wristband for him.
I hope he is found safe and sound. My father-in-law lived with us during the last year of his life because of the Alzheimers. He wanted to stay where he was, in the home of a lady friend that he'd been with for years, but she was older herself and just couldn't deal with it any more as it got worse and worse. In the end we had alarms and gates and hid all the knives, scissors etc. I know the wandering off and getting lost can start very suddenly. My mom has a friend whose husband has been living with Alzheimers for 30 years. He can't care for himself and lives in the past but for some reason he's never wandered off on his own. Prayers for this man and his family.
This poor man. Â I hope he is found soon. Â My dad had this terrible disease. Â It is so devastating.
@belsnickles Yeah my dad had it too. It killed me to see him like that.Â
@V @belsnickles I understand totally.  The lucky ones are those who are "pleasantly demented."  My father was a tormented soul the whole way through.  A gentle man, he became combative and paranoid, convinced that someone was after him and that terrible things were going on behind his back, and had to be drugged into oblivion in order to "control" him.  It was such a loss when he died, but part of me saw it as a release for him. Had he had any control, he would never have wanted to live like that.  I pray (PRAY) they find a treatment soon.
@V @belsnickles The worst day of my life the first day that my Mother didn't know who I was.
*The long good-bye*.
