Intruder starts fire in Edmonds condo while resident sleeps
EDMONDS, Wash. -- Someone broke into an Edmonds condo unit early Friday and started a fire while its resident was sleeping, according to the Edmonds Police Department.
Firefighters were called to the building in the 100 block of Third Avenue North around 1 a.m. when a resident was awakened by the smoke alarm in the second-floor apartment.
While several tenants were evacuated, firefighters were able to put out the small fire.
It turns out, someone entered the unit, started the fire and stole items while the resident was asleep, according to police.
Police are continuing to investigate the situation.
Even Radio Shack sells cheap burglar alarms for apartments that will wake you up at least..... Yikes.
