Police: Man beaten, robbed at gunpoint in South Seattle
SEATTLE - A man was beaten and robbed at gunpoint by two attackers while walking along a sidewalk Friday in South Seattle, police said.
The incident unfolded at about 5:30 a.m. As the victim was walking along 37th Avenue South, he was stopped by a man brandishing a black handgun, said Detective Jeff Kappel of the Seattle police.
Then a second man, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, grabbed the victim from behind and began to search his pockets. The victim broke free and ran a short distance but was caught and taken to the ground by the hooded man, Kappel said.
The attacker covered the victim’s head with his jacket and struck the victim multiple times on the head with a blunt object. The attacker then went through the victim’s pockets and removed a cell phone and iPad.
Both suspects fled northbound on 37th Avenue South, then west on South Edmunds Street. The victim walked to a coffee shop in the 3800 block of South Edmunds Street, where he called 911 about a half-hour after the robbery.
Officers quickly arrived but could not find the man's attackers.
Medics treated the victim and he was then taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under active investigation, Kappel said, adding that there are no suspect descriptions available at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911. Anonymous tips are welcome.

Stole his cell and his ipad. Are ipads really small enough to carry around in 'pockets'? Also, doesn't the ipad have 'locate' features that would allow it to be tracked/found?
Unfortunately, this isn't news any more. At least when it comes to South Seattle, Rainier/Beacon. Low life thugs! Instead of a so called "war on drugs" it should be a war on thugs.
"he called 911 about a half-hour after the robbery" A half-hour later. WTF?
@fumblefacedolt cell was stolen, and likely not a lot of places open that time of morning to make a call from.
That is sure going to be one head ache. I hope they catch these guys. I am not from this state and had moved here within the last year. I do not understand "gangs". This is something we do not have back home. I still do not have the fear to carry a gun and there has been many times I walked late at night by myself. If there is a big fear of these "gangs" then why does no one take back the streets. Walk with groups of 50 or more people and stay on there stomping grounds all night, until they get the hint that these are not there streets. Get the police invold and the fire department. With as much as I see people complain about them, it should be easy getting enough people invold. You got to take a stand sometime before its to late
@Just my say You must be from a small town or something, but just as a friendly note: all decent-sized metro areas in North America have gang issues to varying degrees. In an urban area, you can't really have your guard down even in relatively safe Seattle...especially alone and when it's dark. A gun isn't going to do much good if you aren't psycholgically prepared and adequately trained to use it, let alone if you get jumped/ambushed. However, we don't know if the muggers are gang members or not in this case. Not that it really matters...
@KennyGambler I am from a small Mennonite (similar to the Amish) town, I am not use to big city's. I have no fear of people at all. I better start paying attention  my surroundings because I will be a very easy target
@Just my say I wouldn't say that I'm exactly fearful of people myself, so I'm not paranoid that everyone's out to get me.  But I will admit that since I've spent all of my life in cities, I tend not to trust anyone on the surface by default.  You never know who's running a hustle and trying to con you, for instance.  So it's definitely good to develop an unconscious sense of your surrounding including the body language of people.

Welcome to Western Washington, stay safe.
5:30 am....nearly bed time for da bro's.....I miss profiling. It works.
Â
@bagsofdirt How come I never see your racial comments on the many, many stories where the perp is a white guy? Hmmmmm?
THANKS FOR WATCHING ANOTHER EXCITING EPISODE OF 'SOUTH SEATTLE 911'.......
@CIAassassin BaD BOyz, bad boyz, whacha gonna do when they come for YOU!!!!
Crime will always rise when police are no longer trusted or respected. Â
Â
And 95% of all Seattle officers do not even live in Seattle. Â
Â
@Andrew Bush Do you know any civic history? The main reason for that is that the prevailing philosophy is that it keeps the officers from being targeted in their homes by people who they arrest who live in Seattle. In Portland there are several cops who live in Washington State for similar reasoning.Â
@Andrew Bush .....and nearly 100% move even farther away when they retire.

Apparently the victim did not offer suspect descriptions in this matter because of his head being covered and things happening quickly. Otherwise it would be the likely case that Komo hipsters would worry about the political correctness of any identifying information about specific individuals who elect to commit crimes.Â
@Citizen#3457899654 What city do you live in officer?Â
Columbia City/Beacon Hill. I'm shocked.Â
Â
Â
 @caphillkid I'm not.
How could there not be a description of the suspects? I assume the victim would've given a description.Â
Yet another peaceful day in Seattle. Folks, arm yourselves and get a C.P.L. Our society isn't getting any BETTER, so at least give yourselves a fighting chance. Blow a few of these pukes away, and maybe they'll start getting the picture.
