Police: Man caught red-handed breaking into W. Seattle home
SEATTLE - Some quick thinking by a witness and a fast response by officers helped catch a burglar as he tried breaking into a West Seattle home Friday afternoon.
Just after 1 p.m., the witness called 911 to report seeing a man on the back side of a house in the 5000 block of 35th Avenue Southwest.
Detective Jeff Kappel of the Seattle Police said officers responded within minutes and set up a perimeter around the home. When the suspect noticed the officers he tried to escape but he didn't get very far.
One of the officers positioned near the south side of the home caught up with the 24-year-old and was able to block him from going down into Camp Long.
Officers arrested the suspect and booked him into jail for investigation of burglary.
Have they let go yet after a slap on the wrist.
Are you asking us or telling us?
@Mike Slap on the wrist. That's awful. He should just stand in the corner for 5 min
Restitution! Â Significant community service. Â He has a debt to pay; Â make him pay it!
Poor choice to commit a crime on I-35. Probably spotted by a lot of people.
Seems much easier to get a job rather than skulk around breaking into peoples homes.
Nice they caught him, the problem is he will be back on the street by Monday afternoon. That's not the police it is the current Justice system in this progressive state.

"What color are his hands now?"

@komoispropaganda classic!
Now this is the way it should work between neighbors, and civilians and police.
@dome200q I agree with you, but more than half the time it doesn't.
@Tacobender50Â @dome200q This is all because we have a police department the community doesn't trust. What kind of cooperation can you get from a community that literately hates the sight of SPD
@BuddyHolly Do me a favor - don't speak for me....
