Police: Man shot dead outside of Everett motel
EVERETT, Wash. -- Police say a man was shot dead Tuesday night in the parking lot of an Everett motel.

Several people called 911 at about 8:30 p.m. to report a shooting at the Sunrise Motor Inn in the 8400 block of Evergreen Way.

When officers arrived moments later, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound in the hotel's parking lot, according to Aaron Snell with the Everett Police Department.

A witness told police they saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene just after the shooting. Snell said officers found that car Tuesday night at an Everett apartment complex.

Police searched the complex and detained "several" people, but Snell would not say if they were suspects in the shooting.
