Police: Man shot in chest during fight in West Seattle
SEATTLE - A man is hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center after he was shot in the chest during a fight early Saturday outside a home in West Seattle, police said. A suspect was arrested in Queen Anne shortly afterward.
The incident began as the shooting victim and some of his friends were walking along a sidewalk outside a home in the 9200 block of 30th Avenue SW just after 2 a.m. Saturday, said Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt.
Some of the people in the home came outside and one of them began fighting with the victim out on the sidewalk.
One of the other people from the house was standing there with a handgun on his belt. The suspect grabbed the gun and shot the victim in the chest, Witt said.
The suspect then gave the gun back and drove off in his own car.
After police and medics arrived, the victim was taken to Harborview, where the doctors were able to stabilize him. His condition was not immediately available.
Officers learned the name of the suspect, and were able to find his address on Queen Anne. They went to his house and arrested him without incident. He was booked into King County jail for investigation of assault.
Police said it is unknown what sparked the fight between the victim and suspect or if they even knew one another before the incident.
The investigation continues.

Komo news, the communist propaganda outlet is always happy to show us the results of their work. Thanks guys. Our state looks great. People die from senselessness all of the time. Your all out propaganda works.
Â
(In case any of you Washingtonians there are curious, the difference between propaganda & truth is this: propaganda is the flaunting of failures of populaces designed to create a mass os public fervor towards blindly growing government power, case in point, komo. Truth is how that state has grown, who we are electing, what they have done & are doing with our money & our lives.)
Â
We Washingtonians didn't lose everything by mistake. We were let to take the knives to our our throats by propaganda.Â
Â
We need to stop attacking citizens, that is each other. & take our lives, our state & our freedom back.
@Libertyinfinite go troll somewhere else then!
@Libertyinfinite Not to be rude.... How in the heck does this apply to this article and idiots involved?
@Funky-Munky  @Libertyinfinite semi coherent ranting don't pay attention
@Larry*X*K  @Libertyinfinite Oh, I have done that too! I am trying to get better.. Ha! These forums are mainly a journal for me and a good way to have some laughs and share with others...
Â
Ahhh! The N.W.O is upon us all..... Boo! Ha!
Â
Â
Â
'Um, do you mind if I barrow your gun for a moment"? Bang!
"Uh, thank you. Here, you can have it back, I only need it for a moment".
Yeah typical. Another fight in the streets of Seattle on a Friday night which always has to be resolved by a gun.
All the time tested elements: middle of the night, testosterone, a gun, a fight, and you have a trip to Harborview and tax payer money spent tying up responding officers and medics over complete stupidity.Â
One of the nice parts about concealment dummy is being licensed first of course followed by not displaying your protection and having the element of SURPRISE! Displaying a weapon in such a way thinkin' you're the big cheese will most always get you killed or shot! (my opinion)
Â
Re-read story: sounds like the guy with the weapon was only standing there in this case while the other individual fighting walked up and took the handgun away and then shot the guy he was fighting.... Still the idiot displaying the weapon is now party to this other guy getting shot.... which in my opinion just proves even more the man displaying the weapon was/is one of the biggest idiots in the world.
@Funky-Munky It makes no sense to me how this guy carrying a gun openly could have been so unaware to let his gun get grabbed and used by someone else. If he was impaired he never should have been carrying in the first place. I open carry semi-often and have never had anybody try to grab my weapon, and if they tried I'd surely know about it beforehand. But then, this sounds like a party where drinking was involved and someone tried to be tough while three sheets to the wind.....
@dg54321 Ahhh! started to write a bunch of advice.... In short.... The element of surprise is the best.... (my opinion)Â
@dg54321 I feel a bit differently... I care for the public, but I could careless about promoting any safety for the sheep. Truth be told many citizens do not posses the caliber of training I posses and shouldn't carry any kind of weapon because they would then become first and foremost a danger to themselves followed by others. Remember the old saying they can pry the gun from my cold dead hands... I am not worried about anyone steppin' on my rights or potentially trying to take my guns away... I would turn on my own government at the drop of a hat if such an attempt was made.... I would suspect every gun owner would do the same..
@Funky-Munky Fair enough....I do both, depending on the situation and what I feel like that day. If I feel like just going about my business without any potential police contact or people asking me questions, then I conceal. I do think it's important that we offset the negative image of gun ownership the media portrays by getting out there and showing people that good guys carry guns too, more often than anybody thinks.....
