Police: Man tries to abduct Everett HS student

EVERETT, Wash. -- An Everett High School student was walking to school Monday morning when a stranger tried to pull her into his car, according to the Everett Police Department.

According to police, the student was walking in the 2300 block of Wetmore Avenue around 8:05 a.m. when a man pulled up next to her in an older, tan sedan and asked if she wanted a ride.

The student told the man no and kept walking.

A few seconds later, the man grabbed her arm and pulled her toward his car, according to police.

The student was able to get away from the man and run to school, where she immediately reported the incident.

Police were unable to find the man or his car. And, the student was unable to provide a detailed description of the would-be abductor.
