Police: Man trips on sidewalk, turns it into armed robbery

SEATTLE -- A woman was sitting outside her Capitol Hill apartment early Wednesday when she saw a man trip on the sidewalk. According to the Seattle Police Department, the woman said, "That sucks," to which the man replied, "Yeah, but this sucks worse" and proceeded to rob her at gunpoint.

According to the police report for the incident, the robbery took place around 12:07 a.m. in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue East.

After the man pulled out the gun -- a silver handgun that may or may not have been a fake -- he demanded the victim give up her purse, according to the report. The victim handed the bag over, losing her debit card, driver's license, cellphone and wallet in the process.

The man walked off down the street, likely getting into a car out of the victim's view and driving off.

Officers were unable to find the man.

Somehow, when Mr. T taught us all about "recouping" after tripping I don't think he had armed robbery in mind.
