Police: Murder victim in Covington had been beaten, not shot

COVINGTON, Wash. -- Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Covington said Monday that the victim was beaten to death, not shot as originally indicated by sheriff's officials.
King County sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy West said the initial 911 call Sunday evening came from someone who reported that a man had been shot in the head inside a camper that was parked behind a home.
When deputies arrived at the house in the 26800 block of 172nd Place SE they found the 46-year-old victim dead at the scene and detained several people for questioning.
After interviewing witnesses, detectives arrested a 26-year-old man for investigation of murder and booked him into the King County Jail.
It was not clear what prompted the killing, but investigators said the suspect and victim knew each other.
The name of the man who was killed has not been released.

The Human condition is a funny thing. People that are so bored or unsatisfied with the happenings in their own lives, have to seek out drama to speculate on in an open forum. The moral decline of society is so apparent that all you have to do is walk through the grocery store and observe! Now we can sit here at our computer killing time on the office clock spilling diarrhea from our thoughts about what we think about whatever tragedy we can find to take the focus off our inadequate lives, or to give the impression to the world that we are intelligent humans, but what this world could really use is a few more of us getting out from in front our digital world and doing something nice for a stranger, even someone you wouldn't think deserves it! Remember, judge not, and let he who is with out sin cast the first stone! If you believe in God or not are those words too hard to follow.
 @Nick Taylor Bored now...
To all the haters out there, why don't you keep your comments to yourself. Regardless if drugs or alcohol were involved, it is still a sad and tragic. The victim was someone's son, father and friend. We should all respect their privacy and let them grieve without everyone speculating as to what may or may not have been involved. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, I hope they can all heal from this senseless act cruelty.

Do not read any further if you loved the victim. This board is notorious for its lack of empathy for folks who contributed to their own demise in the form of drugs, alcohol or stupid behavior. While at this time, we don't have all-the facts, be forewarned that if any of the above applies, the fact that the victim loved his children or puppies will be irrelevant and he will be subjected to a merciless commentary. Please don't EVER say he was just turning his life around (victim OR perp). That is like hitting a rabid dog with a meat flavored newspaper.

Well fumble it sounds like Nick joined the board to inform us more than the article it's self. But beat to death in a trailer reeks of drugs and booze. It is an epidemic. nick says he survived by teenage children I wish the victim would have remembered them and made better choices, they will be haunted the rest of their lives.
I do feel sorry for their loss.
I'm guessing no one here knows a thing about the story but will elaborate and speculate with their BS opinions anyway. Amiright?
 @fumblefacedolt Right . . . except I am one of the victims brothers!
 @fumblefacedolt It's what we do. I am going with: Argument Over Drugs/The Seller/Meth Rage/In The RV Out Back.

 @Sid Vishess  @fumblefacedolt no meth . . . not that exciting!
Drugs and alcohol were a factor but please remember this man is survived by teenage children and a family that knew his faults and strengths. He is loved and will be missed!
 @Nick Taylor that is rough
Something tells me drugs were involved. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
The 26 year old sure had some rage. How long did witnesses watch this poor man get beat and not step in? Something is telling me that there is much more to the story.Â
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess it wasn't accidental.
