Police: Robber slashes cabbie with box cutter, steals his phone
SEATTLE -- Police say a man assaulted and robbed a cab driver early Monday morning in North Seattle, but he didn't have long to enjoy his score.
Officers were called to a Safeway parking lot in the 8300 block of 15th Avenue NW just before 3 a.m. Police soon learned that a Shuttle Express driver had been slashed with a box cutter and robbed of his cell phone.
A police dog led officers to a residential area a few blocks away, where they found a man hiding under a parked car near a home in the 8500 block of 14th Avenue NW.
The suspected robber was taken into custody and the injured cab driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries are not life threatening.

Clearly it was good that the driver wasn't armed with a gun, or the bad guy might have been injured. We cannot ever allow that can we.......SIGH>>..
Guess we need to start registering box cutters and having background checks for them...
Shuttle Express is not the same as a taxi. Change your headline please.Â
