Police: Queen Anne restaurant target of early morning burglary
A restaurant on Lower Queen Anne was broken into early Saturday morning and police believe the suspects were after alcohol.
Around 4:20 a.m., officers responded to an alarm call at Plaza Garibaldi in the 100 block of 1st Avenue North. Within moments of the alarm, a witness also called to report seeing two men breaking into the building.
Detective Mark Jamieson of the Seattle police says despite a quick response by officers the suspects were already gone before they arrived on scene.
Inside the restaurant officers found several windows smashed and the bar area ransacked.
Descriptions of the two men are limited and only mention what they were wearing - dark clothing, a baseball hat, and knit hat at the time of the burglary.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
Quick response from SPD once they get the call from the 3rd party alarm monitoring company..........which can add valuable time from when the thieves actually broke in and set off the alarm. Not sure if this is the case but the alarms that are broadcast right to the police dispatchers or over the air to local law enforcement in their patrol cars are way more effective then going thru a monitoring company.
What is a quick response?
