Police: Two Issaquah luring incidents linked to same man

ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- Issaquah police are investigating a pair of recent lurings and advising local parents to be extra vigilant.

The first incident happened Wednesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Newport Way Northwest. Police say a teenage girl was walking home from her bus stop when a man pulled alongside her in what is described as a "beat-up sedan." The man, thought to be in his 40s, tried to convince her to get in.

A similar incident was reported the next day. In that case, police say a teenage girl was waiting at a bus stop on East Sunset Way when a man approached her and tried to convince her to come to his house, according to police.

Both girls described the man as being white with short, curly gray and brown hair. He has short facial hair and was wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans and hiking boots, according to police.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call Issaquah Police at (425) 837-3200.
