Sheriff: Woman rams cop car, fights with deputy after chase
The woman's car is towed away after her arrest.
BOTHELL, Wash - A 24-year-old Tacoma woman suspected of mail theft was taken into custody Monday morning after a car chase that ended as the woman rammed a patrol car and fought with a deputy, officials said.

The incident began at about 4:20 a.m. when a sheriff's deputy pulled the woman over in her vehicle at 9th Ave SE and Filbert Drive, said Shari Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

The woman fought with the deputy and then fled the scene in her car, briefly dragging the deputy before he fell to the ground.

The deputy returned to his vehicle and pursued the suspect to the Canyon Park QFC store parking lot, where he used a pivoting maneuver with his car in an attempt to end the chase.

The woman rammed the deputy’s patrol car with her own vehicle, then got out and started fighting with the deputy, who used pepper spray and a Taser to subdue her.

The deputy was not injured. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated and cleared for booking into Snohomish County jail.
