SEATTLE -- A northeast Seattle mother pepper sprayed a family friend because he was smoking marijuana with her son; also, she thought it may have been her marijuana they were smoking, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the mother returned to her apartment in the 3000 block of Northeast 143rd Street around 6:15 p.m. Nov. 4 and found her son hanging out with a family friend.
The mother was reportedly so upset the family friend wouldn't leave the apartment that she pepper sprayed him in the face and called 911 to have him removed.
Officers arrived to find the son pouring water on the family friend's face outside the apartment.
The mother, who was still agitated, told officers she didn't want the family friend in her apartment because he smokes pot with her son. She said she was even more upset because she believes they had taken her pot.
Both the son and family friend denied stealing the mother's marijuana.
The family friend told officers he didn't want to press charges against the mother for pepper spraying him because they are friends. But, he did say he would not be returning to the apartment.
The son also decided to leave for a while.
