SEATTLE -- The man who allegedly attempted to rob a downtown KeyBank Thursday was on work release from King County Jail at the time, according to the Seattle Police Department. In addition, he is the same person arrested while pleasuring himself after robbing a Capitol Hill bank on New Year's Eve.

Police released surveillance footage yesterday after the man allegedly threatened a clerk at the KeyBank and demanded money, which he didn't get before running off.

According to police, the man was recognized by the Department of Corrections as an inmate currently on work release, meaning he is allowed to check out of King County Jail during the day to work.

It turns out, the man checked himself out of jail just 50 minutes before trying to rob the KeyBank, according to police.

He was originally in jail for robbing a Capitol Hill US Bank on New Year's Eve by passing a teller a note stating he had a bomb.

Officers arrested him the next day after a woman found him "having a good time with himself" in the doorway of a neighborhood car dealership, according to police.

He was arrested Thursday night in Capitol Hill  for the attempted KeyBank robbery and returned to King County Jail.
