SEATTLE -- A phone theft in Rainier Valley led officers to a wanted robbery suspect Thursday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, a woman was waiting for the bus around 8 a.m. in the 8100 block of Rainier Avenue South and listening to music on her iPhone when a man walked up and stood next to her.
As the bus approached, the man grabbed the victim's iPhone and headphones and ran off, according to police.
Officers arrived and spotted the suspect, who reportedly ran away, hopped a fence and entered an apartment complex. The suspect was found a second time and detained.
According to police, the victim couldn't say if the suspect was the man who stole her phone as she didn't get a good look at the robber.
But, the suspect had a $100,000 warrant out for his arrest anyway, so he was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
Officers were unable to find the victim's iPhone.
