Police identify 'person of interest' in Bremerton murder
BREMERTON, Wash. -- Police have identified a person of interest in last week's murder of a 61-year-old Bremerton woman, and they're asking for help to track the man down.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of High Avenue just after 6 p.m. last Friday after receiving a report of a dead body.

Medics and officers arrived to find the body of 61-year-old Melody Brannon.

The Kitsap County Coroner's office has ruled Brannon's death a homicide, and police are still investigating how she died.

On Tuesday, police released a sketch of a man they're calling a person of interest in the case.

The man is described as being light-skinned or of mixed race and in his late teens or early 20s. He stands roughly 6-feet tall and has a slender build.

Police say the man has a blemish near his nose or lip that could be a mole, sore, cut, wart or birthmark.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and a jacket with a black or navy blue watch cap with hair sticking out around the bottom of the cap.

He was last seen in the area of Brannon's house around the same time she was murdered.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bremerton Police Department at (360) -473-5481 and leave their information.
