SEATTLE - Police are investigating after receiving numerous reports of gunshots fired at two locations in South Seattle, but no damage or victims have been found, officials said.

At about 10:40 a.m., several people called 911 to report shots being fired in the 5200 block of 39th Avenue South, said Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt.

Shortly afterward there were reports of six shots fired about two blocks away at 42nd Avenue and South Dawson Street.

Officers quickly responded but found nothing at either scene.

Witnesses said there had been a person on foot in the area shooting at people riding by in a black Mercedes. The suspect then fled on foot.

Officers later arrested one suspect, and recovered a handgun.
