Man surrenders following homicide in Renton
Police are investigating a homicide at the Berkshire Apartments in Renton, Wash. April 12, 2014.
RENTON, Wash. - A 911 call from a man claiming to have shot and killed his girlfriend prompted a SWAT response in Renton around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say the 20-year-old man told dispatchers he had booby trapped his apartment, was armed, and would be waiting for police to arrive at The Berkshire Apartments in south Renton.

The suspect hid in an apartment once officers arrived on scene, but surrendered to officers a short time later.

A 20-year-old woman was found dead following a search of the apartment.

Renton police are not searching for other suspects, and believe this to be an instance of domestic violence.
