Police: Robber uses online sex ads to find targets

SEATTLE -- Police are on the hunt for an accused robber who uses online personal ads to find his victims.
In the last several months, police say 25-year-old David Hansen has robbed at least three people using fake personal ads.
The victims believe they're meeting Hansen for sex, but when he shows up at their homes he robs them, according to police. In one November robbery, police say Hansen also brutally beat his victim.
In another case earlier this month, police say Hansen showed up at a Capitol Hill home for sex, but quickly pulled out a gun and robbed the two male victims of their phones, laptops and wallets.
Officers thought they had Hansen hemmed in Tuesday night at a Central District apartment complex, but he somehow managed to make his escape.
Anyone who knows where Hansen is or has been victimized by him is asked to call 911 or contact the Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535.

The comments on this story are unreal. Â Someone wants to partake in a little human interaction and instead gets robbed and beaten and people are ok with it?! Â I hope this predator meets his match and gets the [blank] kicked out of him.
In most cases, I feel sorry for the victims. In this case I do not. I do think that David Hanson needs to be prosecuted though to prevent him from actually hurting people that are really innocent.
He sure is purdy! Wow, who would invite a person from an online personal ad over to their house to have stranger danger' sex? These people get what they deserved to be so damn stupid!
Did he shave the top half of his eyebrows?
I see they had no trouble coming up with a mug shot of him...
Sounds like a nice guy...
And on top of being beyond stupid and dangerous ... you tell this guy where you live????????? AND THEN use the VICTIM WORD????????????????  REALLY??Â
Sorry these people got hurt but it is their own fault for being in that situation.
 @Anarchy What?
both sides are idiots,,,, you enter and ad and invite trouble wow where are their brains.
Why does anyone go on these sites in the first place? If its to get a quick thrill for the night, start meeting them at a motel, inside the lobby and have everyone's ID's copied.Â
 @Just my say Oblivious...
Oh and thanks KOMO, I have another image to print and take with me to the gun range this weekend!!!
If you are dumb enough to answer an ad like this, then you also get what you deserve!!!
This one is a real bottom-feeder. Not gonna get any sympathy for the victims from me, though.
There is a very simple concept which can keep you from getting your horny butt ripped-off:
Â
Don't go to stupid places with stupid people to do stupid things.
used to have piercings alongside the sides of his mouth... scars are visible.
Â
 @Heisenberg Hard to make out through the meth face!
I have some sympathy for the victims but not a lot. If you go online looking for prostitutes nothing good will come of it. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out and their hands aren't clean. That being said I hope they find this guy and soon. Someone could get killed in the future by this low life.
What's the deal with those haircuts? Is there like an army of dead-eyed, ugly men, with shaved haircuts? Is that prison chic? or meth chic?Â
Ah, Washington State, paving the way for career criminals with a warm welcome as far as our laws are concerned. When will we convince our legislators these people are not nice and don't deserve to be at large on the same streets as decent folk? But then the electorate would  have to ditch Timmy Eyman and pay for things, such as keeping scumbags behind bars.Â
Sounds like a case of a jilted lover
Soooo C List continues to be a bastion of nefarious and predatory activity. What's new?Â
 @PhunkyMunky For some reason I thought the robbings occured after interacting on an online gay dating site and not Craigslist. KOMO needs to clarify the information for those curious readers.
 @PhunkyMunky Don't see Craigslist mentioned anywhere in the article. Did you see this in a different article somewhere?Â
 @tobility Wow, you get a stolen bicycle just for defending Craigslist. They are proud of you!Â
@Citizen#3457899654 @tobility I... wow... Guess you didn't actually read my comment? Or maybe you could point out where I was defending Craigslist?
 @tobility No, it was merely assumed when the title stated:  "Police: robber uses online sex ads to find targets" Of course there are many other sites that do the same things. C List is just one of many.
 @PhunkyMunky Yeah, I totally assumed the same. Was just wondering if it was, and if it had showed up elsewhere :)
