NORTH BEND, Wash. - The manhunt for a Monroe prison escapee has shifted away from North Bend.
Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis says investigators believed Brandon J. Musto, 37, was in a wooded area near North Bend Friday morning. Dozens of officers were searching off Interstate 90.
But new information indicates he was picked up in a vehicle later Friday morning.
Willis says police have no description of the vehicle and don't know which way it may be headed.
Musto was just three months away from release when he escaped Wednesday night, apparently by climbing over a 10-foot fence.
Willis says a friend who gave him a ride and was arrested Thursday at McCleary is cooperating with investigators. She says 59-year-old Rupert Soriano is held in the Snohomish County in Everett for investigation of rendering criminal assistance.

All these hijackers conversing about zombies and such when this is about three bean salad. Lets get back to talking about beans.
"If they serve 3-bean salad one more time I'm going over the fence."
I am very impress by this guy. I know he had three months left, but I want to know what is going on for him to have all this help. First its the one guy who drops him off in North Bend and the second who knew where to pick him up. He knows what he is doing and people are willing to help him out and risk their freedom. I am hook on this story. I want to know where he is going and why. There is something be hide this story.Â
Apparently Musto was Mustgo.
Â
Please add 20 years to his sentence. A clear message must be made. Pay your debt or pay a bigger one.
@pbs7mm Or build a higher, sharper fence...
How ironic would it be if the people arrested for helping him escape get longer than a 3 month sentence (what he idiot who escaped had left).Â
Humm, thats a tough call, mutant hillbilles or zombies, better recheck my ammo supply..
Given the age difference between the convict and the person arrested for helping them escape, I wonder if it might have been his father. Â
Just a matter of time until he is caught. Â
@KRM66 That was my first thought, we'll soon find out, it's only a matter of time before they find him.Â

@scared_citizen Mutant hillbillies.... are the absolute worst. My town is overridden with them. Many have been here for generations and refuse to understand there's culture beyond their sister. (just a thought)
@Funky-Munky @scared_citizen There are an awful lot of states where it's perfectly legal to marry your first cousin.
@Funky-Munky @scared_citizen ..I'm glad that I have my 2012/2013 Washington State Zombie Hunting License...there's no bag limit either. I hear they are roaming in the North Bend vicinity.
