Police seek driver who crashed pickup into W. Seattle ravine
The pickup came to rest at the bottom of the hill beside a neighbor's backyard.
SEATTLE - Police are searching for a driver who crashed a pickup truck into a West Seattle ravine early Tuesday, then fled the scene.

The incident unfolded at about 12:20 a.m. when neighbors heard a loud crash near their backyard in the 7300 block of Glenridge Way SW, in the Gateway neighborhood near Lincoln Park.

They came out and saw the truck crashed into the ravine and the driver hobbling away on foot.

Police responded to the scene, but the driver was gone.

Officials said the pickup veered off the roadway in the 7400 block of California Avenue SW and narrowly missed a power pole as it careened downhill.

There was no word yet on what led up to the crash.
