Prosecutors: GPS tracker didn't dissuade Seattle child rapist

SEATTLE -- A Burien man already serving a prison term for robbery is now accused of raping a 12-year-old girl at a Seattle park.
King County prosecutors contend Eric E. Turner raped a girl he met on Facebook while facing robbery and burglary charges. Turner, 19, was wearing a tracking anklet during the purported sexual assault.
Writing the court, a Seattle Police detective said Turner was well aware of the girl's age when he arranged to meet her near Pratt Park in the city's Central Area.
The girl later told detectives she expected she might kiss Turner but did not intend to have sex with him.
Once she was in his car, though, Turner pinned the girl down and forced himself on her, the detective told the court. She told police she attempted to push Turner off but could not do so.
Turner later described the girl as a "little sister" and denied having sex with her, the detective told the court. The detective noted that DNA evidence collected by investigators supported the girl's story and refuted Turner's claim that he had never met the girl.
According to charging documents, an GPS monitor strapped to Turner's ankle at the time showed that he was in the area the girl described at the time of the alleged attack.
Turner's court-mandated anklet was one of the conditions of his pre-trial release while he faced robbery and burglary charges in late 2012. Turner ultimately pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree robbery in an attack on two women shopping at a Seattle market; he also admitted to burglarizing a home and selling stolen property.
Having pleaded guilty, Turner was sentenced to 15 months in prison. He had been scheduled to get out in late June, though the new charges will likely delay his release.
Turner has been charged with second-degree child rape. He is currently in state custody and is expected to be returned to King County Jail shortly to enter an initial plea.

How many more victims is it going to take for the courts to realize that predators that rape and molest children cannot be "fixed" and should never be free to terrorize more innocent children again and again and again?
Why was the criminal that raped the day care worker on the street? It appears he committed other crimes but the police didnt start chasing him till after this horrible attack. We must all be armed and ready to defend our lifes. Now she will think did he infect her with a diseae? Lead poisoning is a fit punishment for him.
@The WA Mama The story mentions nothing of him being any sort of predator or sex offender prior to this- he was wearing the gps bracelet as part of conditions to robbery and burglary charges, therefore, to use him as an example as a repeat predator of children is wrong in my opinion.Â
@commonHuskyfan I would be willing to bet this is not the first time he has done it (he just got caught this time)  and now that the courts know that he is a rapist/molester, I hope they get a clue and not let him out. Sorry, but child molesters and rapists don't deserve a "benefit of a doubt".Â
@The WA Mama I find it hard to infer that he is a repeat sex offender from the information given. Court records do indicate however he has prior felonies, but none indicate sexual offenses (from what I can determine)
I agree though that he exhibited predatory style behavior in the form of robbery/burglary, prior to this violent attack.Â
WA Liberal judges letting this guy out to victimize more people, as usual.Â
He will be out in no time. We must all be armed and ready.
How about first sexual offense jail time. Second sexual offense castration. It would lower the testosterone level and help reduce violent behavior.Â
@jcman Actaully, it would likely push one into a state of irreparable anger, and make things much worse. I think an offenders island in the middle of the Pacific with monthly airdrops of gummy bears and basic tools would do much better.Â
Criminals best friend is nanny state justice...
Absolutely true. Give criminals repeated breaks so as many civlians as possible can be vitimized. I want to read about armed and ready citizens stopping a criminal.
Marvelous. While awaiting trial for one set...he goes and commits a rape...lies about it and is nailed by DNA and the bracelet. Go through the courts for all charges, and if convicted, walk him around behind the courhouse and just shoot him. There is NO, NONE, NADA chance of his rehabilitation.Â
There is no reason for we the people to continue to feed and house him past conviction. Consider it a long overdue post-partum abortion.
Why is a 12-year old girl getting into a car with a strange man?
@James127 Because her parents aren't nearly involved enough in her life.
@Avalonis @James127 What parent?
I've been saying for years that you can't fix this kind of animal. They're sick like rabies. There is no cure. The best you can do for the animal and society is put the creature down before it hurts or kills someone else. Passive liberal 'progressives' just can't understand this though, so criminals get light sentences and released with a pat on the back for 'a second chance'.
@SargeMcCÂ
He should have been an abortion but the radical right wingers wanted him to live. These monsters deserve to die before they are born and if they live to become monsters they deserve to die immediately. The pro-life movement has to live with the bad, the good and the ugly or agree to help these monsters when they are children to become productive members of society. But the pro-life lobby only want to assure they are born and then "they are on their own" Can't have your cake and eat too!!
@SargeMcCÂ why do u think this is a liberal thing. i'm one and i agree with you, but i also think you should be euthanized for being stupid. the herd does need thinning!
@mike sorlie, Well, not that I was ignoring you, but I work for a living. Now I'm back. Obviously you missed the part where I said 'Passive' Liberals. Evidently you don't quite fall into that catagory. I do find it interesting though that on one hand you agree with me, while on the other you rudely wish for my demise. That would be in keeping with typical liberal logic though, so, OK. Have fun. Toodles.Â
@mike sorlie @SargeMcC He states its a liberal thing because historically, if you look at voting records, and convictions given/sentences given, liberals are the ones being lenient on criminals. With that being said, clearly not all people that are liberal about some things are liberal about criminals, you being an example.
You are so right @bustedupredneck totally unfixable. There is NO rehabilitating a sexual offender. Not to mention if you have a broken arm or leg it will heal. The trauma associated with a violent sexual assault lives forever and will no doubt ruin many lives.
When will the liberals figure out these animals are not "fixable". Time to remove it from the population before it does more harm!!!
@bustedupredneck No kidding.  IF a dog is a danger they put it down.  They need to do the same with this pos.
Violently removing someone else' rights and choice, especially a child, should be execution.
Again the "Liberal" agenda strikes again. A criminal with a history is let off with a anklet. Two counts of robbery and burglary and he is relesed back into the public with a anklet. How "Liberal" can you get. Are you people getting fed up with "Liberalism" yet?????Â
Dude the article did not say he was released to an anklet. he was wearing the anklet before his robbery trial. The crime occured while he was awaiting trial....The anklet will actually make it easier to find him guilty of the rape.
@racerkyle well it also  says he was serving a term for robbery. . .and set to be released in June.
@IQhiker  It is just annoying how many people pay little attention to anything yet know everything.
@justsaying again, read the article. Second paragraph states he was awaiting trial on those charges when he raped the girl, then pleaded guilty and is NOW in prison.

@the unvarnished truth , u b idiot
Lock his butt up for good! Oh and take away that 12 year old's facebook! She is MUCH too young to even HAVE a facebook, let alone chatting with strange men online and meeting up with them in the park.
Why oh why doesn't child rape result in a life sentence? This monster needs to go away for life. He's proven that he is a threat to the general public, lock him away. Oh, and while I'm dreaming, let me suggest we also revoke the comcast subscription for inmates and take away their TV's. Jail isn't supposed to be fun...
@what? life sentence...hell no, should be a death sentence.....
