Punches, bottle thrown during disturbance at Seattle nightclub
SEATTLE - A fight at a South Lake Union nightclub ended with punches thrown and a woman taken to the hospital after being hit by a bottle of champagne, according to police.
Both incidents occurred at Club Citrus, in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue North, just before 1:00 a.m.
Seattle Police say two women inside the club started fighting with one another. At some point during the argument, a man reportedly punched one of the women. The group carried the fight outside where the two women were seen chasing each other around the parking lot. According to police, the same man then punched the other woman before leaving the scene with the women he punched first.
The couple was gone before police arrived.
The female victim, who remained at the scene, refused medical treatment and left the club on her own.
During the course of the argument inside the club, police say someone else tossed a champagne bottle across the dance floor, hitting another woman at the club with her friends. According to police, it's not clear if the woman was actually targeted with the bottle or just happened to be in the area where the bottle fell.
She was treated by medics at the club and then taken by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center.
Officers stayed on scene to make sure nothing else happened at the club.
No arrests were made following the incidents.
Some of these comments have hurt my feelings. Not nice to classify an entire group of people because of two or three people's behaivor. Not every one was taught CLASS, some of these comments are proof of that. KOMO is reporting on news that is relevent to its audience, believe it or not people of color DO watch the news too. I must say I am still shocked to see the race card being played in 2013. I wonder what has been said about elementary school shooters? They must have grew up in South Seattle too huh? It'll be someone like me that will prove the IGNORANT wrong and I look forward to it.
@domthe10Â Why do you people always bring up elementary school shooters? Â Less than 1/10th of one percent of the population are elementary school shooters meanwhile black men make up approx 6.5% of the population and commit over 60% of the violent crime in this country
Sheesh... model citizens here... some wonder why my wife and I do not tend to favor going to a club ... here is a shinning example of why I dislike that sort of environment... grownups still acting like spoiled teenagers...no interest in sharing space with them I'll take my business elsewhere!
GHETTO!!!! Good god people get some class.
Close your eyes and picture a world without HIP HOP music. Ahhh such a beautiful place.
@Willy Lee A pretty sad one honestly. Hip Hop is only a music genre. It's opened up creative avenues for way more than just Rappers, as it's found in Rock, Country, Pop, and many other styles, as is the electronic music. Just because you dislike it or a specific, very small, group of people choose to be violent "Because of it", or choose to spit out violent lyrics, does not mean it should go away. I can't stand most Hip Hop myself, but I am a musician and can see many cool things that can be done using Hip Hop.Â
I do not think Willy means the music it's self 'Lifestyle" is what I think he means. I agree with you some parts of it mixed with other types of music is pretty cool.
I don't see any descriptions of the suspects in the story. But I see plenty of passive aggressive racist comments eluding to blacks involvement. Typical.
@Hehateme You've got a HIP HOP Club.... Where/ in the world does Hip Hop start from? More to the point, who would be the majority of club goers? And if you look about, it's not ALL of these clubs, but SELECT ones. THEN you have to look at within those clubs who are the ones constantly causing the trouble. It's merely demographics. KOMO itself is pushing a race issue by reporting this garbage. If you went to an area that was primarily white trash, you'd find the exact same thing going on, only white people causing the trouble.Â
Look at facts and quit being so sensitive.Â
Classy, champagne and entertainment . What else would a girl want?
Oh look....I'm surprised.
How many of these incidents are going to be allowed before The Citrus is closed as a nuisance? This kind or crowd doesn't belong on South Lake Union. send them back to Rainier Valley and South Seattle, we sure as hell don't want them here.
@joefuss :-(
Ghetto fabulous and thug life in da house! Dude punches two ladies, and leaves with one. That's hood romance! Also, nobody saw nuthin'!
OK KOMO, here's one for ya, how about quit reporting this garbage as "news". It's no longer news, it happens every single weekend without fail. That is not news. Instead, how about doing reporting on Government Sanction injustices? How about reporting on the use of Drones on American Citizens (or Government wanting to). Or how about our erosion of Freedom? How about Corrupt Government Officials (every last one of them are but nobody's reporting on that one). Nope, you won't. You'll just keep reporting what our Government tells you to. I think the Soviet Union and China have/had the same thing going on....Â
Moronic drunks, it doesn't surprise me at all. Why is this news worthy?
@JumblemuffinIt's note news worthy because they are trying hard to get this particular club shut down due to the violence at this one. I was supposed to work an event there the night of the shooting a while back. Another club I worked at was closed down for the same stuff that is going on at this one.
Yes, these are the people who demand your respect. Violence begets violence and not one of these people will tell the police who's to blame. They have a set code of honor that denies civility in lieu of vigilantism. A 'No snitching' code that defies logic and only creates more violence and victims. Darwinism at work.
Time for this "club" to share the Munchbar fate. This isn't the first it made the news and won't be the last if it remains opened.
After looking at some pictures from their facebook site, I can see why there are issues. But anywhere you have hot headed people who can not handle their booze, you will find the same issues.
I didn't know Rihanna and Chris Brown were in Seattle.
Citrus is getting a bad rap for drama these days. A couple of shootings recently, now this fight. That is sad, sucks and gives a bad name to Seattle and S. Lake Union. Thanks to a few idiots ruining it for everyone.
It just does not get more ghetto than this. Well, I guess it could have been a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20.Â
And again, "There were no witnesses to this incident".
Think this is the club where the shootout happened last year.
Sounds like on big happy family.
This is the same club where a man got shot and lost his leg last year. In that shooting it was lucky more people were not hurt. Â http://www.komonews.com/news/local/3-critically-hurt-in-shootings-outside-Seattle-restaurant-138257669.html. Â Â Â This club is bad news.
Thugs?
No descriptions? Oh, let us guess, yet again.......
I see where race was not mentioned. So assuming,,,,, gota be a red neck bar?
@Nightshift Red necks don't even know what champagne is! Bud lite is their champagne...
@tiger62 @Nightshift Yall know whut a Alabama Martini is? A Budweiser with a booger in it...(^_^)
Maybe, but I have another idea - but it is not policially correct
@GOATCUTTERÂ Nz...??
Not the first time this club has made the news.
no arrests made?
The bar provides a venue for such activity- IT SHOULD BE TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE for what happens there. Police should not have any jurisdiction inside.
If you don't wish to be exposed to people like this DON'T GO THERE. WHY DO PEOPLE GO TO BARS?
@contraryjim To get crunked up
Ah, come on KOMO Staff â a bottle just doesnât âfallâ all the way across a roomâ¦.
Better tossing bottles then pulling triggers!
@Grumpa"than"....not "then"....sorry, but its 3rd grade stuff.
@SandyBeach @Grumpa Maybe he meant toss bottles first, then pull triggers. Better doing both...
I see then and than used incorrectly by probaBly a third of the population....how hard can it be?????
@SandyBeach @Grumpa Gotta love the grammar Nazis. That too is so high schoolish. LOL. Oh and before you even bother, yes schoolish is a real word.Â
@snow surferlol----grammar????? hardly....its not "grammar"when you dont know the diff between the two words......been outta hs for a very, very long time.......
alcohol. because no good story starts with a salad.
AAHAAHHAAHAA!! Thank you!!
Sounds like something Dori would say
Wow! Guy hits women. There's a real classy dude!
@Zoso Yeah, then punches the other one and leaves with first one.. nice!
