Puppy stolen from Ore. humane society reunited with new family

PORTLAND, Ore. – It was a special Christmas for the Belzer family.
Their new puppy, a three-month-old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix named "John", is finally going home with them.
"Nothing compares to this," said Lauren Belzer, who first spotted John online.
The family came to adopt him on Saturday, but John was stolen from the Oregon Humane Society minutes before he was going to go home with them.
"I was holding his new collar and leash, getting ready to put it on him when they brought him out," said Lauren Belzer.
"At some point, there was the realization that he wasn't there," said Mike Belzer.
"It was really a quiet ride home," said Madison Belzer. "We were all crying."
John was found Monday evening. Gresham police got an anonymous tip from someone who saw and recognized the puppy, according to David Lytle with OHS.
He was reunited with the Belzer family on Christmas Day.
Police said they are investigating the case. No arrested have been made.
"I'm so happy that they found him," said Madison Belzer.
John? What an odd name for a dog (that looks kinda like a kitten)
This and the other stolen-puppy story from Monday. Now if we could only do so well with missing little girls!

Oregon HUMAN Society, eh? Â I knew Oregon was a bit progressive, but not THAT progressive.
What a crummy mix of canine.
Actually, I've known several of these mixes who were sweet, well tempered little dogs. Let's not breed discriminate, when in fact, in most cases, the pet owner is usually the one to blame for a dog's "foul personality". Glad these people found their little guy and were able to bring him home in time for Christmas. Looks like John found a great family to spend his life with!
The Question is, how did a pomeranian manage to mate with a chihuahua?
A Pom Chi Mix? Oh, gawd.  Whoever stole the dog realized their egregious mistake and  called the police to please, PLEASE take the  Genetically Modified Canine off their hands.

Sharp teeth combined with a foul personality. Hide your children.
@Getov Mylon That's right, make an assumption about the personality of a dog you've never met and state it as a fact that invariably applies equally to all such dogs. One of them crapped in your petunias, didn't they?
@Getov Mylon I've had several Chi's - all were extremely loyal, sweet and loving.
Pomeranians have the foul personality.
@Getov Mylon I have a Pom that is the most lovable, adorable, friendly to everyone dog I have ever had. He's loyal and fun and only barks at the vacuum.
@Getov Mylon I've known some pretty sweet Poms. Maybe it's just you they don't like...My Scottie absolutely loathes anyone with a mustache. Maybe you have something about you that Poms dislike.
