Missing diver's body located in waters off West Seattle
SEATTLE - The body of a missing diver was located Sunday evening in the waters off West Seattle, hours after he disappeared during an outing with friends.

Teams initially conducted a rescue operation for the missing diver, but that was later changed to a recovery operation after teams ruled out the possibility of finding the man alive.

Coast Guard and Seattle emergency teams continued searching all day, but called off the search as it grew dark and said they would head out again on Monday morning.

But the missing diver’s friends continued to dive and search in the area. After several more dives they located their friend’s body, marked the spot and notified police.

Dive teams then returned to the scene to recover the body.

The diver, a man in his 20s, disappeared in about 100 to 150 feet of water. The Coast Guard and Seattle emergency officials were notified by 911 dispatch at about 11 a.m. after four people went diving and only three surfaced.
