Robbers use guns, bats to take down White Center pawn shop
WHITE CENTER, Wash. -- Police say four men wielding baseball bats and handguns stormed into a White Center pawn shop Tuesday night.
The thieves roughed up customers and beat an employee before making off with an unknown amount of jewelry.
The robbery took place at 7:30 p.m. at Pawn Pros, located in the 10200 block of 16th Avenue SW.
According to Sgt. John Hall of the King County Sheriff's Office, the men entered the packed store and demanded that everyone inside get down on the ground. The owner of the store told police the robbers violently shoved a 9-year-old girl to the ground before smashing a number of jewelry cases and stealing what they found.
Before they left, police say the robbers beat an employee with a baseball bat, sending him to the hospital with minor injuries.
Detectives are now looking at surveillance footage of the robbery.
Tuesday's robbery was actually the second time the pawn shop has been targeted in just the past month, and a security guard working across the street said a nearby KFC restaurant was also robbed on Monday.
