Robbery suspect eludes SWAT team in South Seattle

A suspected robber eluded Seattle Police Department officers and SWAT team set up outside his South Seattle apartment Tuesday night.
According to police, detectives were attempting to arrest the 25-year-old man around 6 p.m. when he apparently spotted them and ran inside his apartment near 29th Avenue South and South Norman Street.
Patrol officers, negotiators and a SWAT team blocked off streets and attempted to get in contact with the man.
Once a search warrant was obtained a few hours later, police entered the man's apartment only to find it empty.
Police are continuing to look for the man.
Are they sure it was a petty robber? Sounds more like Jason Bourne...
Beginning to wonder if the police can catch any bad guys at all, seems all the stories lately are ongoing holdups and bad guys getting away...
This makes no sense. So this guy is still on the loose? Obviously the cops know who he is so why no name, pictures, description something?????
not too shabby giving swat and spd the ol okey doke....
Why would they need a search warrant? Sounds like they had plenty of probable cause to break his door down.Â
@lakeview Because then the KOMO headline would be "Seattle Police refuses to pay for damages after breaking into a residence without a warrant"
I'm confused. Â Isn't their obscene salaries and training and egos are earned by NOT letting this happen?
