SPD asks for help identifying 5 men suspected in brutal attack

SEATTLE -- Seattle police are asking for your help in identifying five men suspected of a violent attack in Downtown Seattle last week.

The victim told police he was leaving a story near 3rd and Pike around 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 when five men jumped him. The man was knocked to the ground and punched and kicked, Seattle police said. The victim was able to get up and run away, but was later chased down and attacked by the group again.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatments of bruises and cuts over his head and body. But he couldn't provide any descriptions about his attackers, only that they were black men.

Seattle police have since released surveillance video of the incident in the hope that the man's attackers could be identified. If you have any information about the case, you're asked to call Seattle police at (206) 684-5535.
