BELLEVUE, Wash. -- It was a close call, but no one was hurt when an SUV crashed into a Montessori school as classes were in session Tuesday morning.

Police say a 39-year-old woman was dropping her two kids off at America's Child Montessori on NE 21st Street and apparently hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The SUV went through the first classroom a hallway and then into a second classroom before stopping at a bathroom.

Police say there were 5 young students and a teacher in the classroom, but luckily were on the other side and were not hurt. Overall, there were 27 students and seven teachers in the building at the time of the crash.

Inspectors say the building remains structurally sound and workers were on their way for repairs. In the meantime, the damaged classroom was blocked off and classes continued in other classrooms.

Police say no charges will be filed against the driver.
