SWAT team surrounds Lake Stevens home
LAKE STEVENS, Wash. -- Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies and a SWAT team surrounded a Lake Stevens home Wednesday night after learning that an armed robber could be inside.
A market in the 600 block of Bowen Street in Snohomish was robbed Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. Sheriff's Lt. Rick Hawkins said two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the market and stole merchandise. Nobody was injured and the robbers fled the scene in a white Toyota car.
At roughly 6:30 p.m., detectives located the same car at a home in the 1500 block of 99th Ave. SE in Lake Stevens.
Hawkins said a number of people were inside the house, and all but one voluntarily came out. One man was taken into custody, but it's unclear if he was involved in the robbery.
A SWAT team surrounded the house and some neighbors were evacuated while officers wait on a search warrant.
Hawkins said there's reason to believe the man inside is armed.
