School bus hit by motorcycle in Grays Harbor Co.

TAHOLAH, Wash. - A motorcycle rider lost control and crashed into a school bus that had stopped Monday afternoon on a road about three miles south of Taholah in Grays Harbor County.

State troopers responded to the scene, at 44 Ocean View Drive North, at about 4:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a crash involving a school bus.

The Washington State Patrol says none of the 15 children on the bus or the driver were injured.

A preliminary investigation found that the motorcycle, a 1980 Honda, was heading south on the northbound shoulder of Ocean View Drive North when the motorcyclist lost control and hit the school bus as it was stopped in the northbound lane of the road.

The 27-year-old Taholah man riding the motorcycle was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The motorcycle was totaled.
