Andria and Daniel Britt.
WOONSOCKET, R.I. - Police are still searching for a 6-year-old they believe was taken by his mother and could be in danger, but they have called off a search for a second vehicle with Washington state license plates in the nationwide Amber Alert.

WJAR-TV reported Thursday authorities are no longer looking for a gray 1992 Chevrolet Astro van with Washington state registration in connection with Daniel Britt's disappearance. They have made contact with the owner, Daniel's grandfather.

Daniel was last seen over a week ago with his mother, Andria Britt. Authorities have said she could have gone to Washington state. She drives a red 2004 Ford Focus with Rhode Island registration 942-649.

The Amber Alert says a court granted Daniel's father sole custody of him, after Andria Britt skipped a court date and failed to return the boy.

The alert also cited an "immediate risk of harm" to both Andria and Daniel Britt. The reason wasn't disclosed.

She's 34, 135 pounds and 5 feet, 5 inches. Daniel has blue eyes and brown hair. He is 4 feet, 3 inches, and 50 pounds.
