SEATTLE -- The man police believe stabbed a bank security guard in the stomach Tuesday morning has been arrested.

The suspect, who police did not identify, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Federal Way.

The stabbing occurred at a Bank of America branch in the 1200 block of Madison St. around 10:40 a.m.

Police said a man walked in and expressed interest in opening a new account. When he was told he would have to fill out paperwork, he told the teller he would return later.

While walking out, the man stabbed the guard on duty twice in the abdomen "for no apparent reason," police said.

The attacker fled on foot, heading east on Madison. The guard was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
