Seattle-bound Victoria Clipper turns back due to weather

SEATTLE -- A Seattle-bound Victoria Clipper was forced to turn back due to severe weather on Thanksgiving Day.

The vessel had just left the harbor in Victoria, British Columbia when it encountered waves as high as 7 feet. The crew decided to turn back as a safety precaution.

The company said it has arranged for alternate transportation for the 230 delayed passengers. The group, originally due in Seattle at 3 p.m., was expected to arrive around 9 p.m.
