Seattle boy, 8, killed in wrong-way crash in Montana
MISSOULA, Mont. -- The Montana Highway Patrol says a Montana man driving the wrong way on Interstate 90 near Missoula died Sunday when his pickup crashed head-on into a vehicle containing a family of four from Seattle, killing an 8-year-old boy.
Trooper Drew Novak tells the Missoulian the crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. east of Missoula. He says the 33-year old man driving west in the eastbound lanes may have been driving drunk. He was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.
Novak says a 37-year-old man in the other vehicle sustained serious injuries and was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The man's 29-year-old wife and 5-year-old son are in stable condition at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
Officials said the Seattle family was on vacation.

My best friend's son died in this accident. It should be noted that he was driving the wrong way -WITH HIS HEADLIGHTS OFF-. Had they been on, it is possible that this could have been avoided.
IÂ can't believe this happened!! It saddens me to hear something like this. The 8 year old boy was my nephews best friend he was an innocent boy and I can't believe this happens to such innocent children.
Going on vacation is supposed to be the best times of your life, not watching your children die due to someone who was drunk and driving. Luckily this drunk driver will not be able to ruin anymore lives with that being said I do feel bad for his family too. I hope if this drunk had left a tavern in this condition (vs being at home) that this family sues the bejesus out of that establishment too.
Another drunk devastating an innocent family. When and how are we going to get control of this problem? I'm so sorry for this family, I hope they are able to find peace eventually.
Rest In Peace lil man. I have an 8 year old and can't imagine this happening to me. Heart goes out to the fam, it will be hard. Don't drink and drive people. Get a cab or a friend to drive & stop people in danger.
I CAN'T STAND READING ARTICLES OF D*R*U*N*K DRIVERS WHO TAKE THE LIVES OF OTHERS WHILE THEY CHOOSE TO TAKE THEIR OWN LIFE BY DRIVING DRUNK!!!!!!!
Â
And YES I am YELLING!!!!!
Â
What a tragedy for this young family...there are no words except to say I hope the survivors make a full recovery, and then they have to cope with loosing their young boy.....

How horrible, my heart goes out to this family. And the poor mother and  year old son being stuck in the hospital in Missoula while the father is in Harborview with serious injuries, I hope that they are well enough to get back to Seattle to be with him soon, they should not be apart after suffering such a loss.Â
So incredibly heartbreaking. Heart goes out to this family.
Just heartbreaking!!! I'm so sorry for this family! RIP little boy...
Oh my God, what a horrible tragedy. It sounds like they were just trying to get home. My heart goes out to the little boy's family. May he rest in peace.
