LACEY, Wash. - An argument between an estranged husband and wife escalated into deadly violence Saturday near Lacey as the husband killed his wife and then himself, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the scene, in the 8000 block of Kerbaugh Road near Lacey, at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call about a shooting.

Arriving there, they found the husband, 39, and wife, 31, both dead of gunshot wounds to the head.

Sgt. Ray Brady of the Thurston County Sheriff's Office said the couple was still married but separated, living in different residences. The deadly shootings took place at the home where the husband was living.

The wife had arrived there a few minutes earlier to drop off their two children, a 6-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl. The children then walked over to a second home on the property where the husband's parents live.

Meanwhile, the husband wife got into a fight at the husband's residence. The man pulled out a gun, shot his wife and then himself, Brady said.

The couple's 8-year-old daughter ran over to the home when she heard the noise and discovered her parents dead.

She then went back to home of her grandparents, who called 911.

No one else was injured in the incident. The names of the husband and wife were not immediately released.
