Sheriff's deputy poses as taxi driver to nab suspect
SHOREWOOD, Wash. -- A King County Sheriff's deputy pulled the old switcheroo with a taxi cab driver in order to nab a fleeing suspect last Thursday.
According to the King County Sheriff's Office, a deputy stopped a car for expired tabs around 9 a.m. near Southwest 112th Street and 16th Avenue Southwest.
During the stop, the car's passenger, who it turns out has seven outstanding warrants for his arrest, ran off and hid, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The suspect must have called for a taxi to help him escape because a short time later a cab pulled up looking for him, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The cab driver agreed to let a deputy take his place in the driver's seat and another deputy to lay down in the backseat.
The deputy-turned-cabbie drove around the area until the suspect jumped out from behind a shed with a K-9 unit hot on his heels.
He was arrested when he tried to get in the taxi.
very clever
Nice job KCSO! Â Now that's thinking outside the box. Â Well done.
Nice move! Love to hear more of these!
But he got a free ride to jail!
Damn, I was rooting for the dog to catch him first. Keep up the good work K9 you will get another chance, and maybe with the same guy. With only seven outstanding warrants for his arrest he will probably be out soon.
This reminds me of Latka, Reverend Jim and Bobby Wheeler and the whole cast of Taxi for some reason. Comical
I love this...
That just made my day.
As he was getting into the cab a loud 'D' "Oh" was heard..
HAH... should have let the K-9 Jump in the taxi with him!
Nice. :)
Awesome Story - This could only be the work of Starsky and Hutch!
Hahaha. Idiot.Â
Oh how I love a good ending! Great job police/cab driver!
