CALDWELL, Idaho -- Two sisters were killed when their car crashed into a manure truck outside Caldwell Thursday evening.
Police on scene say a white sedan carrying three minors was headed south when it was struck by the truck on Old Highway 30.
"We are still investigating the crash, but it looks like the car failed to stop at the stop sign or failed to yield from the stop sign pulling out on to the roadway, and was struck in the driver-side doorway by the manure truck," said Sgt. Jason Kagle of the Idaho State Police.
The crash killed the driver, a 17-year-old girl, and her 6-year-old sister.
The other passenger, an 11-year-old, was flown to a Boise hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the manure truck was not injured.

We need to pass a law against teen drivers. This is out of hand.
I am just as guilty as anyone else in thinking of funny retorts, but as soon as I read the story my only response was OH NOOO! The best one can hope for is the 11 yo lives and fully recovers. My heart really goes out to the families.Â

 @BravesPackersCougzSounders No actually, It's been posted once too many already. Interesting you can find humor in this horrible story.
Perhaps we didn't need to mention the fact it was a manure truck. I'm sure that wasn't a crucial detail that just had to be mentioned.
 @cm257n7 If it was loaded it would have been very heavy and difficult to stop. A lot of them are pretty beat up. Makes one wonder if all it's lights were functioning. Sad when young people have this happen to them, another family grieving two children's deaths.
Was probably a farm truck. People don't realize that you don't have to have any training or a CDL to drive semi's when they are for farm work. It shouldn't be allowed unless the driver says on farm property. Lots of accidents happen every spring and summer because kids are driving semi's without any training.
 @Blindman Except it sounds like it was the fault of the kids in the car (failure to stop/yield at the stop sign) not the person driving the truck. At least in WA, if it's a "farm truck" (& therefore doesn't have a license plate) it's not legal on public roads.
 @katiemcc  @Blindman Yes you can operate on streets and highways within a 100 mile radius of the farm without a CDL ... people have tried to change this but run into strong opposition from the farm lobby every time. Does't mean the driver of the truck is at fault this time but I've seen a few apples on the highway before.
Such a devastating tragedy. I hope the surviving child is able to pull through. I feel so bad for the family. RIP
RIP poor family, how horrible
Well that stinks!
Hopefully Idaho Senator Crapo wasn't hitting the bottle and driving again
So tragic!! Very sad to hear this!!
unbelievably stupid comments by some of you here. What if it were your family. So very tragic.
Very sorry to read this. Sympathies to the family.
My sympathies to the family & friends of the kids. It's bad enough losing one child in an accident but to lose two is more than twice as traumatic.
On another, nit-picky note, most of those photos were basically a waste of film. Pictures of the police & police cars & a fence? What's the point of that? I understand not posting detailed photos of the wreck itself but why post pictures of nothing relevent?
 @katiemcc Doubtful the pictures were taken by a camera using film.
 @Furd Speaking of nit-picking. I'm sure they were digitals but the point remains.
As a mother with 2 young drivers this is my worst fear, something will happen to one of them, or god forbid, they are both in the same car at the time of an accident. My thoughts and prayers are with this family. I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through :(
What was Rush Limbaugh doing in Idaho?
 @PilonidalCyst Riding with Chris Matthews
 @PilonidalCyst not funny!
 @Komo Dragon @PilonidalCyst Ditto. Wrong place, wrong time pal!
 @PilonidalCyst It all depends on whether you want to be taken seriously with your posts in the future. I can't stand Rush either, but this article is about tragic loss of life not about a self-absorbed potato head. So no, I will not suck "it".Â
 @Zoso  @Komo Dragon  @PilonidalCyst Oh god no!! You did NOT just "pal" him, did you? ROFL
These tragedies are just gut wrenching. Please realize the mortallity of moments and decisions.
