REDMOND, Wash. -- Police have released a sketch of a man suspected of attacking a woman early Tuesday in Redmond.
Redmond police spokesman Jim Bove said the victim, who is in her early 30s, was studying in her bedroom when the man came in through a ground-level sliding door about 2 a.m.
The man put a knife to the woman's throat and sexually assaulted her, Bove said. The woman told police she did not recognize the man and that the sliding door on her apartment was unlocked.
Police searched the area around the apartment complex in the 8500 block of 148th Avenue NE, but the attacker remains at large. Bove said investigators believe he got into a car and drove away.
The attack has neighbors in the area on edge.
"It's the summer and a lot of us have our windows open at night trying to keep cool and it's worrisome someone would break in and hurt somebody like that," said neighbor Christopher Robinson.
The woman described the attacker as a white or light-skinned Latino man with a medium build. She said he had a strong foreign accent and was wearing a dark colored baseball cap and a white T-shirt under a dark colored sweatshirt or jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Redmond Police tip line at (425) 556-2581.

There are a LOT of creeps out there and they are looking for opportunities.Â

...you mean it's worrisome that a thirtysomething year old woman would leave her door open so someone could just walk in?
Any particular type of "strong foreign accent?" That seems like a pretty important detail to glaze over.
So they are looking for the Verizon guy? "Can you find me now?"
He looks like Gomer Pyle. Shame, shame, shame.
Looks like the lovechild of Ben Affleck and Charlie Sheen.
Hang 'im High.
@Thet Runcheon or shoot him low!
I hope they catch the guy before he hurts anyone else.
That's an amazing sketch!
