Spokane planning for recreational marijuana stores

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Spokane is starting to plan for the shops that will open in about a year to sell recreational marijuana.
City Councilman Jon Snyder says the city needs to identify where shops can go, following regulations in the new Washington law that will keep them 1,000 feet away from schools, playgrounds, parks, libraries and transit centers.
Snyder tells KREM the city has a lot of work to do to protect the community and establish rules for what could be a lucrative business.

Nothing special here, shops like these are all over parts of Europe and somehow the sky hasn't fallen. When drugs are legalized they become quite boring.Â
Ah, the meth city branches out. Glorification of the drug culture will go down in history as one of our greatest mistakes.Â
 @Citizen#3457899654 Yeah, THAT will be the screw up that stands out. Whatever.
@Citizen#3457899654 is probably a troll that works for a company that PROFITS from prohibition.face reality, millions have gone to jail so some a-hole can make a dollar!
 @Citizen#3457899654 LOLWUT?
Glorification? That's a tad bit dramatic. I believe the discontinuation of putting people in jail for a substance safer than aspirin, caffeine, nuts, etc will go down in history as the smartest & most financially responsible decision ever made.
"1,000 feet away from transit centers."
--- God forbid if the Bus Pass crowd got their hand on recreational marijuana.
@Harrison - we'll be waiting in line for it :D we can always catch the next bus.
