State Senate passes child sex trafficking bills
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - The Washington state Senate has unanimously passed a pair of bills meant to crack down on child sex trafficking.
The first measure passed Monday would impose a $5,000 fine on top of existing penalties for those using online ads to facilitate the commercial sexual abuse of a child. That money would go toward state efforts to prevent and stop prostitution.
The second bill would expand the definition of "communication with a minor for immoral purposes" to include buying and selling sex acts and engaging in sex trafficking. It would also increase penalties for clients of child prostitutes and add trafficking and commercial sexual abuse of a child to the list of sex offenses requiring sex-offender registration.
Both measures will go next to the House.

Hey cool, more laws that give the illusion of politicians doing something whilst simultaneously having no effect on the problem. I mean it's not like it isn't already against the law and it's already a respectable prison sentence if you get caught inside a tea-ball player. Â
Perhaps taking steps to de-value the industry by decriminalizing prostitution for legal consenting adults?
But I guess that might twist the maxipads of some special interest group and anger some trainwreck political house fraus.
Can't have that.
Better idea.....anyone that even THINKS about having sex with, buying, selling, trading, or abusing a child? Automatic execution. Additional "fines" aren't going to stop a pervert. Hell, most of the time, PRISON doesn't change or stop them. There's only one sure cure for this kind of sick......
@Takamine agreed, if only we could have a mind reader machine!  for the time being, anyone that has been convicted should be executed...  save my tax dollars i don't want to support perverts that are locked up.  put that money toward stuff that are looking at budget cuts.  solving the deficit one pervert at a time
yes i beleave humanity lost hope or worse the the belief in god existence - powers. sooo sad. 2013
@maggie112Â You are right. Too much science these days. Thank "god" people are rational...
Too little, too late.
