DuPont, Wash. - A 23-year-old man is thankful to be alive after a piece of steel flew through his windshield on Saturday.

Police say the man was driving southbound along I-5 near DuPont when a chunk of steel was sent airborne by another vehicle.

The steel debris smashed through the man's front windshield, hitting him in the head and leaving him with minor injuries.

Police do not believe the steel was thrown from an overpass, and it is unclear where the steel originated from.
