Suspect in Skyway teen's shooting death turns himself in

SKYWAY, Wash. – A suspect in the shooting death of a Skyway teen has turned himself in, officials say.
The suspect, identified in court papers as Kedric Tray Carter, 18, of Tukwila turned himself in Wednesday evening, said Cindi West of the King County Sheriff's Office.
The 19-year-old victim, identified in court papers as Gerard Rogers, was found dead early Wednesday morning at an apartment in the 13400 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way.
West said when deputies arrived on the scene they found the victim dead due to a gunshot wound to his chest. Four other adults were in the apartment along with four children, ages 2-7, who were sleeping.
A preliminary investigation found that a group of friends and family had gathered earlier in the apartment. At some point, a handgun was pulled out and passed around so people could look at it.
The suspect pointed the gun at Rogers, who is his cousin, and pulled the trigger, striking Rogers in the chest, according to court documents. He died almost instantly.
Neighbors told deputies they saw two men running from the building shortly after hearing the gunshot.

Let's try this again <sarcasm on>Â don't forget his right to a fair trial <sarcasm off>

Peace!
This is a non-story with nearly no details. I don't know who to blame; KOMO for going ahead with it, or Skyway police for continuing the "don't tell" mentality the police seem to have these days.
If convicted it will be morbidly, depressingly, interesting to see how much of a wrist-slap punishment he's sentenced to... for COLD-BLOODED MURDER, inside an apartment with FOUR CHILDREN SLEEPING in it.
Â
Wow. Eighteen years old and already (allegedly) shooting unarmed humans in the chest at point-blank range, leaving the mortally wounded victim in a spreading pool of their own blood to agonizingly gurgle their last few breaths before dying... and all the while little kids are nearby! Unbelievable!!  When I was that age I was working a part-time summer job, chasing girls, saving for college, trying to keep my old beater car running, but generally enjoying life, and so were most of my buddies. The worst trouble I got into was for going to a "kegger" with some friends and the beer got poured out.

WHAT THE F!#K IS GOING ON THESE DAYS? WHERE ARE THESE SOUL-LESS MONSTERS COMING FROM?
 @TheTruncheon Life is different in the hood.Â

I couldn't agree with you more! Society is so disconnected and youth has no hope for anything better than instant gratification. Not to mention the poor impulse control. A lost generation indeed...
@pickles22 @TheTruncheon Look at the role models youth has... thugs, crooked/corrupt politicians and businesses, its a wonder there aren't more of these disparaging stories.
Remember, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law ;>}
@HonkeyCat Aaaaaaand thumbs down.
Thanks This Again. I was aiming my comments toward Dark Renegade who consistently reminds us of a person's right to a fair trial - regardless of guilt, being caught red handed, a dozen witnesses and so on. Look up her posts, you'll see what I mean.

I'm trying to learn about our court systems <sarcasm implied>

Cheers....
 @HonkeyCat PS: Ive already sent a screen shot of what is perceived as an unwarranted personal attack upon myself which is a violation of forum policy (#2).http://account.komonews.com/commenting-rules/

I believe you said, No hard feelings?
 @HonkeyCat I made the comment twice which would hardly be what is defined as "consistently" and you continue to show your childish behavior instead of showing maturity by simply letting go and moving on. For the record, Im male.
P.S. no hard feelings ;-)
 @HonkeyCat True. But he better have a good lawyer.
Wow... 18 years old. I can't imagine being in a cage with some of the worth people on earth until I'm at least 43. Dam.
 @HehatemeÂ
I agree! I was just thinking how great it is to have the sweet gift of freedom to come and go as I please everday and the only thing I have to do is follow the rules of society. Not too tough people.
