Suspect in Tacoma cop-dragging incident arrested

TACOMA, Wash. - A man suspected of dragging a Tacoma police officer with his car Monday was arrested early Thursday when officers spotted him in another car pulled over for a traffic stop.
Tacoma officials said that Pierce County sheriff's deputies on patrol stopped a car without headlights in the 5300 block of I Street at about 3 a.m. Thursday.
The deputies soon realized that the suspect in Monday's dragging incident was a passenger in the car. He gave the deputies a false name but they recognized him from a flier.
The man was booked into Pierce County jail for investigation of first-degree assault.
In Monday's incident, two Tacoma police officers pulled over a car at the intersection of 82nd and East F Street for a routine traffic stop. The driver suddenly took off, dragging one of the officers as he fled.
The officer fired three shots and managed to break free without suffering injuries. Officers fired at the fleeing car and shot out the rear window, but the driver managed to get away.

Well, that's great! So, what's his name and where's his mugshot?
Bit of advice; if you're wanted by the police, don't call attention to yourself by doing something stupid like night driving without headlights! Actually, that's something stupid that NOBODY should be doing!
Great Job ..  Stay safe ALL OF YOU
Well, the saying is kind of like this: Birds of a feather flock together. Both of these people are stupid and probably thugs; we know one for sure is a thug......wonder if they were on their way to rob some hard-working person so they would have money for whatever.............
Yeah, because riding in a car without headlights at 3am is the perfect way to avoid being noticed by the police.
@spacegoddess Another episode of the Felony Stupid...
The dirtbag drove a car that hadn't had the proper title change by the used car lot, where the same dirtbag gave up $200 and drove away in the car he used for the assault.
I won't say what used car dealer didn't comply with their obligation to file the proper title stuff they were supposed to do. Because of this the paper trail lead the police to me and my wife's homeplace for three days and nights (the car was still in my son's name from a trade in)
Don't buy a car from a lot that uses an R-V for an office
@Steve Thorp It's not just the gravel lot dealerships you need to worry about. A very well-established dealership failed to file a report-of-sale on my trade-in. I found out when I received a red light ticket in the mail for that car 3 months later.
@Steve Thorp You could have ended up on Judge Judy! :)
Why keep the name private, just share it so others know who to avoid, otherwise why say anything at all??
Of course the dumba@@ was in another car being pulled over...losers like this can't ever stay out of trouble.
Good! Lock that scumbag up for a long time. There is no use for people like him.

Excellent job officers.... I can barely remember what someone looked like after they leave a store I was shopping in. I also fully believe they stopped someone else from being hurt.
@Funky-Munky Agree, great work officers.Â
