Suspected Vancouver prowler was shot in chest

VANCOUVER, Wash. - The Clark County medical examiner's office says a man who was killed in Vancouver because he was suspected of car prowling was shot in the chest.
The office said Thursday the death of 19-year-old Iosif Dumitrash of Portland was a homicide.
He was killed early Tuesday by a resident who thought he was a car prowler. Sean Doucette was holding him at gunpoint and waiting for police when shots were fired.
Earlier reports had said that Dumitrash was shot in the back
Doucette's lawyer says he was attacked and fired in self-defense.
Prosecutors say Dumitrash was trying to walk away. They're charging Doucette with second-degree murder.
Family members told The Oregonian Dumitrash was in the wrong place at the wrong time. About 200 people gathered at the Portland Church of God Wednesday night for a memorial service.

Not enough information to really even call this news. Â Would be better to have just called it a tweet.
Let me guess. He was the pillar of the community. Never had any trouble with the law etc etc etc. Funny how we have a news story with little information. Bet there is more to the story than what we've been told by the press.
If you hold a gun on a person, you had better be sure of what you are doing. I may not like it, but my car is not worth a lifeâ¦. Having my car taken by gunpoint isâ¦. The other guyâsâ¦
 @dome200q You look at it as your car isn't worth a life.  I think many other people look at it as your life isn't worth a car.  I'm not saying that this shooting was justified; I suspect that it wasn't, but people are getting fed up with crime & the police/legal system seem powerless to quell it.  As for the wrong place at the wrong time.  Maybe!  The poor guy just chose to start vehicle prowling in an area where an armed citizen just happened to be.  I don't know this guy and the story has no real facts.  I'm guessing that he hasn't been the most upstanding citizen of the community and this crime happened in the late hours of the evening or the wee hours of the morning.
@SheltonDavey
Your attempted metaphor is rather confused, since my life is ALSO *âAâ* lifeâ¦.
Â
Iâll try to make my point with single syllable words, just for you.
âKilling for a car, or being killed FOR a car is NOT worth the cost of the slug. â
Â
However, try to jack my life-supporting oxygen tank IS life-threatening and worth killing over.
Â
And on top of everything else, shooting a person in the BACK means there was NO threat to the shooters life, and it doesnât matter how fed up you are with crime overall â this shooter just ADDED to the problem.
 @SheltonDaveyÂ
And unlike some, I don't fault others for spelling as long as I can understand the point you are trying to make - unless YOU start faulting others.....

"Earlier reports had said that Dumitrash was shot in the back"
Â
I didn't re-read the story - just my email.
Â
Also, if you are going to use a jest or sarcasm, please give us posters a visual indication that you are NOT to be taken literally OR seriously, then maybe folks like me wonât make jerks out of ourselves. There are way too many people that are here on Yahoo just to be offensive.
Â
Emots work well â so does just plain language.
 @dome200q justified
 @dome200q  @SheltonDavey Of course it's confusing you silly goose.  It wasn't really a metaphor; it was more of a play on words and an example of how people may see the same situation differently.  It sounds is if you don't believe that your car is worth killing someone over.  Others may believe that risking your life for a car is not worth it.  Seeing you want to be so condescending, how about you read the first sentence of the article.  It says that he was shot in the chest, not the back.  I also stated that my suspicion was that the shooting wasn't justifies.
