Suspected car thief eludes police after short chase
SEATAC, Wash. -- A suspected car thief remains on the run from the law after escaping from police following a short chase Thursday afternoon.

King County Sheriff's deputies were called to an apartment complex near 149th and 132nd Ave. S. for a report of a possible stolen vehicle around 2:30 p.m., officials said.

When deputies arrived, they located the car in question, but then a man inside the car sped off and a police chase ensued, officials said.

The chase ended at 175th and 37th Ave. S. when the driver got out of the car and ran off into the neighborhood.

Several officers from nearby agencies and a K9 unit searched the ground while King County's Guardian One helicopter looked for the suspect from the skies, but they came up empty.

Investigators only have a vague description of their suspect, saying he's a Hispanic man who was wearing gray sweatpants with a silver chain around his neck. If you have any information about the incident, contact the King County Sheriff's Office.
