Suspected drunk driver causes fiery crash on I-5
SEATTLE -- A suspected drunk driver caused several crashes on I-5, including one that set a car afire, state patrol troopers said.

The 38-year-old driver of a green Ford was heading south on I-5 near Northgate around 9 p.m. when he struck a Toyota but continued south, said Trooper Chris Webb. The driver then collided with others cars until his final collision involved a semi truck and Honda near Denny. The impact set the Honda on fire, but luckily its driver was not hurt.

The driver of the Ford was arrested for investigation of DUI and then taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, Webb said. He will eventually be booked into the King County Jail.

The crash blocked three southbound lanes and caused a traffic backup of several miles.
