Teen hurt after being struck by car in Sammamish
SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- A 14-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a car Friday afternoon.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. near Skyline High School, officials said.

The boy ran across the street near the skate park and crossed right in front of the car, said Sgt. Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's office.

The boy was originally going to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, but the airlift was called off and he is instead going by ground.

West said the teen has severe arm injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, West said, and it is unlikely the driver will face any charges.
